Apna common service center (CSC):

The Common Service center is commonly known as CSC or Jan seva kendra and this service is being promoted under Digital India plan. The service is started by our honorable Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi and this service will be used basically in various villages of India to provide electronics services. The Apna CSC is a business model to provide many exchange services in a geographical region.

Under the Digital India Program, the Apna CSC has been introduced by the Government to provide E-Services to citizens by establishing a common center. Government focuses on establishing the 1, 00,000 (One Lac) CSCs in India which promotes employment, education, and development of the rural areas of India.

What are the Features of Apna CSC?

Some of the features of common service center are as follows:

  1.     Promotes Rural Entrepreneurship
  2.     Provides private sector services also.
  3.     Provides multidimensional initiative that is according to the needs of the community.
  4.     Increased growth of livelihoods and rural capacities.
  5.     Provides a single solution to various B2C and G2C services.
  6.     One common service center will cover around a cluster of 6 villages that is 6, 00,000 villages network.
  7.    Facility of a change agent for various government and non-government

Structure of Common service center (CSC)

It is based on 3- tier structure Model.

  1. State Designed Authority (SDA)

State Government appoints the SDA and it is responsible the implementation of CSC services across the state.

  1.    Service Centre Agency-Through promotion campaigns, it promotes the CSC in a rural area at state or local level. SCA is responsible for the division of 500-1000 CSCs.
  2.    Village Level Entrepreneur– Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) is the CSC Operator. It covers 6 Villages under one VLE.

How to start Apna Common Service Center?

  1.  Anybody who fulfills the eligibility can apply online and open common service center. Application procedure to start CSC is as follows-
  2.  Open the CSC Portal i.e. www.csc.gov.in
  3.  On the left side of the page ,Click on “Interested to become a CSC”.
  4.  Click on Link given” For CSC Registration, Click Here”
  5.  Enter the Aadhar Number in required box.
  6.  After that choose the Authentication Option from IRIS/ Finger Print/ One Time Password. Click on “Proceed”.
  7. Applicant has to pass through OTP Process.
  8. Click on Generate OTP.
  9. Applicant needs to fill other details.
  10. Email Id and Mobile Data will be taken from Aadhar Card; which can’t be modified until changes are not made in Aadhar card.
  11.  Geo-tagged Image of Centers should be uploaded.
  12. Click on SUBMIT Option.

On submission of Application, acknowledgment number will be sent to the applicant.

How to check registration status of  Apna CSC?

  1. First of all, go to the website www.csc.gov.in
  2. Then fill the details in the text boxes i.e. email ID, registered id and registration number.
  3. Then click on the submit button

Eligibility to Participate in  Apna CSC Scheme-

Applicant should be a local person.

Age-

Applicant must be  18 years or above.

Qualification

A person should have passed the Matriculation Level Examination or equivalent from recognized board.

Other Requirements-

  1. Applicant should have fluency in reading and can write in local language
  2. Applicant should have the basic knowledge of English Language and Computer Skills.

The infrastructure required for Apna CSC:

An eligible person can approach the Service Center Agency SCA of their respective area and can start CSC by visiting the Service Center Agency (SCA) .

Required CSC Infrastructure shall be as follows-

  1.    Room/Building having a place of 100-150 Sq. Ft.
  2.    RAM having the minimum storage capacity of 512 MB
  3.    Wired/ Wireless/V-SAT Connectivity
  4.    Two Printers. (Inkjet+ Dot Matrix)
  5.    CD/DVD Drive
  6.    Biometric/IRIS Authentication Scanner fro Banking Services.
  7.    Digital Camera/ Web Cam
  8.    Two PC’s with UPS with 5 hours battery back-up or a portable generator set.

Total Estimated Cost per CSC will be 1.25 to 1.50 Lacks (Except Land & Building

How to re-register for Apna CSC center?

Re-registration process is as follows-

  1.    Visit the main website for getting register/renewal to get the online registration form.
  2.    Enter you OMT Id, Aadhaar number and select the authentication type and then add the Captcha Text.
  3.    Click on “Submit” button.
  4.    Your Aadhaar information should displayed along with the form, after the  Aadhaar authentication.
  5.    Please fill the details under the tabs, Banking, Kiosk, Document, and Infrastructure.
  6.    Review the details filled in the form then click on “Submit” button to register and an application ID will be generated.
  7.    You will receive an acknowledgment email regarding Updating of your application on your registered email address.

Mandatory requirements

  •    E-Mail and  Mobile number should be updated in Aadhaar system before doing re-registration.
  •     VLEs should first update their email and mobile before doing re-registration.
  •    Aadhaar & OMT ID of the VLE is mandatory to start the application.

Apna CSC provides the following list of all Services:

Government Services like Forms Download, Birth/ Death Certificates, Property Tax Registration and Submission are provided at one place for the convenience of citizens by CSC centres. Services provided by centres are as following:

  1. PASSPORT – Application for the passport can be submitted through CSC.
  2. Bus Pass – Person can apply for bus pass
  3. Licenses – Application for different kind of licenses can be submitted
  4. Permit
  5. Railway ticket booking
  6. NIELIT Services
  7. Pension Services
  8. LIC, SBI, ICICI Prudential, AVIVA DHFL and Other Insurance Companies schemes can be applied via CSC
  9. Aadhar Printing and Enrollment of Aadhar can be done.
  10. PAN Card
  11. Insurance Service
  12. Electoral Services
  13. Cyber Gram
  14. IHHL Project of MoUD (Swachh Bharat)
  15. E-Nagrik & E- District Services {Birth/ Death Certificate etc.}
  16. NIOS Registration
  17. Apollo Telemedicine: People can avail medical facilities

  19. Subsidies-various different kind of subsidies can be applied

  5. English Speaking Courses – people can apply in various self learning courses in different fields through e-learning portals
  6. Mobile and DTH Recharge
  7. IRCTC, Air and Bus Ticket Services
  8. Online Cricket Course

 

  1. Business to Business (B2B)

It provides Business to Business Services like

Rural BPO : Job opportunities are being provided by CSC which enhances the employ ability level in villages.

Market Research (Digitization of Data, Data Collection) that comes under B2B.

  1. 4. Financial Inclusion

Many Financial Services such as Insurance, Pension and Banking services are provided to the Rural and Remote Areas, which include Women and many other marginalized Communities

Banking- It provides various banking services that include the following facilities

  1. Balance Enquiry : Provides information regarding opening of an account ,different saving options available within banks and loan rates ,which helps the people to connect more easily to banks
  2. Cash Withdrawal
  3. Money Deposit
  4. Account Statement
  5. Kisan Credit Card
  6. General Purpose Credit Card
  7. Overdraft
  8. Retail Loan
  9. Various Credit Facilities are provided to Borrower. It collaborates with 42 private, public and regional rural banks.
  10. Insurance- CSC is providing Insurance products and services through Authorized Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE).

  14. Crop Insurance: Farmers can avail crop insurance which enhances the money security.

  17. Pension- By opening Tier 2 and Tier 1 CSC promotes the National Pension System in Semi- Urban and Rural Areas.

 

  1. Educational Services

Different kinds of educational services are provided by common service centre.

Adult Literacy- Apna CSC provides the adult literacy that is the ability to read, write, speak and listen. These kinds of services is being offered through TARA Akshar+

IGNOU Services- It provides many Open University related services which include the declaration of results, student admissions, examination forms and course offering from IGNOU.

Digital Education- It includes many govt. recognized programs which include Computer Courses and help in enhancing skills like ASHA .It also provides employment through Anganwadi programs.

NIELIT Services- It provides the Online Registration, collection of fees, Form submission of Online Examination and printing service for the exam.

NIOS Services- It provides a declaration of results, Student Registrations and open schooling in rural areas of the country. It acts as NIOS facilitation centre for various other services.

  1. Other Services

Recruitment-It also provides the notification information for Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.

Agriculture- Farmers can use this service to avail many agricultural services. It provides expert advice for Weather Information, crop and soil for better crop production.

Income Tax Filing – Users can file income tax through CSC. It provides the manual in English and Hindi for VLE.

  1. after clicking new VLE registration from registration page. same page will display no any icon or instruction for asking Adhaar no. same page displaying.

    1. CSC will be allocated to person called Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE). CSC is operated by Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE). For it, it is essential to register themselves on official portal. Procedure of registration is as-

      Log on to the official Portal i.e. http://www.apna.csc.gov.in
      Click on “Login Tab” from the top of page.
      Click on “CSC Connect”
      A new page will be open, where VLE need to enter the CSC ID and Password.
      After Authentication, A registration page will be open where required data like Name, Address, CSC Location etc. need to enter.
      Click on Submit Option.
      On submission of details, he will receive the E Mail and SMS to verify the Mail ID & Mobile Number.
      To verify the same, Click on the Link given in the E-Mail and need to enter the CSC ID/ Password and activation code sent via message on your mobile.
      After entering the all data, Click on Submit Option

  8. Can there be more than one CSC in a panchayat. Pls make this issue clear to me. As i want to open CSC but their is already a CSC in my panchyat some 3 km away from my village. Pls clear this issue.
